Eliminar tus datos
Esta página aún no se ha traducido. Se muestra en inglés.
You can delete particular things from Hello World without closing your account.
If you want the whole account gone instead, that is deleting your account. This page is for everything short of it.
Your voice
If you set up My Voice, the samples you recorded and the voice model built from them can be deleted from Settings › Voice.
This is a real deletion: the recordings and the model file are erased from our storage, not hidden. It is the most sensitive thing on your account and it is treated that way. Afterwards your translated voice notes are spoken in a stock voice again.
What the translator has learned from you
In Settings › Translation:
- My Words — the terms you told the translator to leave alone. Each can be removed individually.
- Forget what was learned — removes the corrections you have made and everything the translator derived from them, and resets your correction count to nothing. Translation goes back to its default behavior for you.
Posts, comments and Flashes
Delete a post from the post itself. Deleting a post is complete: the post, and the photos or video in it, are removed from our storage as well as from the feed.
Comments can be deleted from the comment. A Moment can also be deleted before it expires.
Memories
Your Moments are kept in Memories as you post them, unless you turn off Save Moments automatically there. Press and hold a memory to delete it. If that Moment is still up, it simply stops being kept; if it has already disappeared for everyone, deleting the memory deletes the Moment and its photos or video for good.
A Flash cannot be deleted, and we should say so rather than let you discover it. Flashes are built to go one way: they are shown, they expire on their own, and there is no way for the sender to take one back. If a Flash somebody sent you should not have been sent, Report it — that is the one route there is, and it reaches us.
Messages
A message can be deleted for everyone or for you. Deleting for everyone removes it from the conversation on both sides; deleting for yourself hides it from your copy and leaves the other person’s alone. You can select several at once.
Deleting for everyone is complete: the message’s text, its translations, its photos, videos, voice notes and files, and the notifications about it are erased from our server, and only a note that a message was deleted stays in its place. The one exception is a conversation somebody has reported: while that report is open, a copy is kept for moderation, until 30 days after the report is resolved. A copy somebody forwarded to another chat is their message, and stays.
Chat media on a one-to-one conversation is also cleaned up automatically once every device that needed it has received it, after a short grace period.
What AI tools may see
If you allowed Hello World AI Tools to process your data when we investigate a problem, you can take that back at any time in Settings › Privacy › Fixing problems. From then on, your data is left out.
Profile pictures and backgrounds
Your profile photo, cover photo and chat background can each be removed from your profile and from Settings. The files are deleted from our storage.
Other things you can delete yourself
- Contacts, and requests to connect.
- Call records — individually, several at once, or the whole list.
- Conversations.
- Measurements, and the permission you gave someone to see them.
- Devices you are signed in on — signing one out from Settings.
- Notifications.
- Feedback notes you have sent us.
- Saved collections and bookmarks, camera presets, and shared locations.
Asking us to delete something
If something you want removed has no button, write to support@helloworldmessenger.com with “Delete” in the subject line and say what you want gone. Tell us which account you are writing about, from the address or number on it.
We will do it unless there is a reason we cannot — the honest ones being a message that is also somebody else’s record of a conversation, a shared record like an order or a savings circle that other people are part of, and anything we are required to keep to deal with abuse. If we cannot delete something, we will tell you which of those it is rather than ignoring the request.
Asking what we hold
You can ask us for a copy of the data on your account, and for it to be corrected if it is wrong. Write to support@helloworldmessenger.com with “Privacy” in the subject line. Contact lists the other things you can ask for.
