If something on Hello World uses your work without permission, tell us and we will look at it.
What this covers
Photographs, video, music, writing, artwork, logos and trade marks — used in posts, statuses, profiles, group pictures, store listings or anywhere else in Hello World.
Private messages between two people are not published content, and we do not police what people send each other privately. If someone is sending your work around privately, the routes that help are blocking and reporting.
Sending us a notice
Write to support@helloworldmessenger.com with “Copyright” in the subject line, and include all of the following. A notice missing any of it will slow things down, because we will have to come back and ask.
- Your name and contact details — an email address we can reply to, and a postal address.
- What work is yours, described well enough to identify it. If it is a registered trade mark, give the registration number.
- Where it is on Hello World. This is the part people leave out and the part we most need: a link, a share code, a username, a store listing, and if possible a screenshot. We cannot search other people’s content for you.
- A statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorized by you, your agent, or the law.
- A statement that the information in your notice is accurate, and — under penalty of perjury — that you are the rights-holder or authorized to act for them.
- Your signature, electronic or physical.
What we do
We read the notice, and if it is complete and the claim looks sound we remove or disable the content. We tell the person who posted it what was removed and why, and we pass on your notice, including your name and the contact details in it — a person accused of infringement is entitled to know who is accusing them and to answer. Do not send us anything in a notice you are not willing to have passed on.
Repeated infringement ends an account. That is in the community guidelines too.
If your content was removed and you think that was wrong
Write to support@helloworldmessenger.com with “Copyright appeal” in the subject line. Include what was removed, where it was, why you believe you have the right to use it — you own it, you licensed it, it is fair use or fair dealing — and your name and contact details.
We pass a counter-notice to whoever complained. If they do not pursue it, we restore the content.
Notices that are not true
Do not use a copyright notice to remove something you simply dislike. Misrepresenting a claim can make you liable for the other side’s costs, and it wastes the time that belongs to people with real complaints.
Hello World’s own marks
The Hello World name, logo and the design of the app belong to El Hadji Fadilou Seck. You may refer to Hello World by name when writing or talking about it. Please do not use the name or logo in a way that suggests we endorse, produced or are affiliated with something we are not, and do not build a product that presents itself as Hello World.
What you post stays yours — posting it to Hello World does not transfer ownership to us. The permission you give us to carry, store and translate it is set out in the terms of service.
