Help with the app

Something broken, something confusing, or an account you cannot get into: write to support@helloworldmessenger.com, or use Settings › Send Feedback inside the app. Sending it from the app is better when you can — it attaches the version you are running and the phone you are on, which is usually the first thing we would have to ask.

What to include, and what we can and cannot help with, is on the support page.

Reporting someone

To report a message, a post or a person, use Report inside the app rather than email: it tells us exactly what you are reporting, which email cannot. Blocking is immediate and does not wait for us.

If someone is in danger right now, contact your local emergency services. Hello World cannot reach them for you, and we are not a substitute for the police. If a report concerns the safety of a child, say so in the subject line and it goes to the top of the queue — see child safety.

Privacy and data requests

To ask what data we hold about you, to correct it, to object to how it is used, or to ask for a copy, write to support@helloworldmessenger.com with “Privacy” in the subject line.

To delete your account you do not need to write to anyone — it is a button in the app, and it works. See deleting your account. To delete particular data without deleting the account, see deleting your data.

To report content that infringes your rights, follow copyright and intellectual property, which lists what a notice has to contain for us to act on it.

Security

If you have found a vulnerability, write to support@helloworldmessenger.com with “Security” in the subject line. Please tell us before you tell anyone else, give us enough to reproduce it, and do not access, change or delete data belonging to anyone but yourself while you are testing. We will not pursue anyone who reports a genuine finding in good faith and does that.

Press and partnerships

Write to support@helloworldmessenger.com with “Press” in the subject line. Hello World is in a private test, so there is more to say about where it is going than about how many people use it.
