Messaging

A messenger that happens to speak every language

Everything you expect from a chat — photos, voice notes, replies, reactions — except that it arrives in the language the person reading it actually speaks.

Everything you send, in one place

Photos and videos from the camera or your library, voice notes, documents, your location, a contact card, a product from your shop. Long messages keep their shape, links show what they point at, and a picture is compressed for the trip without being ruined.

  • Reply to one message and the answer quotes it, so a busy group keeps its threads straight.
  • React without saying anything, and pin what the group keeps scrolling back for.
  • Read receipts and typing — both of which you can switch off in Settings › Privacy.

A message you can take back

Delete a message for everyone and the words go from their phone as well as yours. Set a chat to clear itself after a while and it does, on both sides, without anybody having to remember. Forward something and it says where it came from — a real name or an @username, never a phone number and never the nickname you saved them under.

A conversation can be locked behind Face ID, so the person who borrows your phone does not open it by accident.

Made it yours

The small things you actually notice

Backgrounds

Set a background for one conversation or for every one of them, from the ones we ship or a picture of your own. Premium adds a set you cannot get anywhere else.

Written in your alphabet

The app itself speaks your language, not only the messages inside it — and it follows the text size you set on your phone, all the way up.

Nothing shouts at you

Mute a chat, hide message text in notifications, or turn off the announcement when somebody you know joins. The defaults are quiet ones.

The group chat, finally

Four people, four languages, one conversation that everybody can follow.
